(1.1) Benchers shall issue rules obliging lawyers to maintain their professional liability and to maintain the protection of legitimate expectations. (c) disclose, in the course of legal proceedings, any other information obtained for the purposes of a proceeding under section 5 or Part III and the provisions of those provisions. 73 The purpose of the Legislative Foundation is to establish and maintain a fund used for the review, research, review and reform of the law and public access to justice, legal education, the administration of justice in the province and all other purposes related to, conducive to or arising out of the achievement of such objectives. 2004, c. 28, p. 73. (2) Counsel may permit qualified lawyers from other Canadian jurisdictions to practise law in British Columbia and to promote cooperation with the governing bodies of the Law Society in other Canadian jurisdictions by doing one or more of the following: (2) If, under this Act or the Regulations, a person appointed under subsection 1 is required by a decision: whose lawyer is guilty of professional misconduct, inappropriate conduct on the part of a lawyer or incompetence, The appointment of the person as Her Majesty`s counsel learned in the law of the Province of Nova Scotia shall be revoked immediately and may not be renewed at any time, but the Lieutenant Governor may reappoint the person in accordance with this section. (2) With the payment of money to the company in accordance with paragraph 1, the obligation of the lawyer or law firm to pay that money to the person in whose name it was held or to the legal representative of that person ceases. (AAA) “medical assessment” means a physical, mental or addiction health assessment or examination performed by a qualified health professional licensed by the society; 59 (1) The Council may participate, with the governing bodies of the Bar in foreign jurisdictions, in compensation programs for persons who suffer a loss of assets as a result of misappropriation or unlawful conversion of property, lawyers or their professional bodies in the practice of law in the province or outside the jurisdiction in which they are members of the Bar, have been entrusted or received. 2004, ca. 28, p. 22.
